Bedbugs

"Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite"

Ionian Environmental can treat & irradicate bed bugs.

Bed bugs are parasitic insects of the cimicid family that feed exclusively on blood. Cimex lectularius, the common bed bug, is the best known as it prefers to feed on human blood. They usually feed on their hosts without being noticed.
A number of adverse health effects may result from bed bug bites, including skin rashes, psychological effects, and allergic symptoms.

Most bed bug infestations are to be found in domestic premises, usually in the bedrooms. They hide away in cracks and crevices for most of the time and come out at night, usually just before dawn.
As bed bugs cannot fly, they must either crawl or be passively transported in clothing, or more probably in luggage, furniture, books and other objects used as harbourages.

Treatment involves the elimination of the insect (including its eggs)

For public health reasons, individuals are encouraged to call a professional pest control service to eradicate bed bugs in a hotel, apartments or property rather than attempting to do it themselves, particularly if they live in a multifamily building.

We will treat the internal wall/floor junctions of any affected rooms. They can also treat cupboards and work surfaces, if they have been cleared.
We use a residual insecticide. This means once it has dried, it will be toxic to the bedbugs for several weeks. Do not wash the treated area for at least seven days unless it is essential, as this will remove the insecticide. Seeing one or two bedbugs after an area has been treated is very common. If large numbers of bedbugs are present after seven days, a revisit may be necessary.
